A must-do in Cambodia is the famous fish massage. Available everywhere these hungry fish are difficult NOT to find. Basically small tanks or inflatable children's swimming pools filled with these little non-descript fish who like to feed on the dead skin on your feet. The Cambodians tout it as "better than a foot massage" (its not) and "relaxing" (not that either). Pushing past the creepy factor will, however, give you some very smooth feeling feet!
Sarah and I ventured out to the Night Market our second day in Siem Riep (boys stayed behind resting) and Sarah was the first brave Shaya soul to try out the fish massage:
The fish were not all that interested in Sarah's feet. Then she convinced me to give it a try. Here are the results:
And just in case you are not fully grasping what these fish are actually doing, here's a close-up:
After the fish experience, Sarah and I wandered over to get a pedicure - which cost $2, $3 if you wanted polish put on! While sitting under a beautiful Cambodian blue sky in lounge chairs and a gentle breeze we watched some women unfolding flower buds to create beautiful flowers which they use for decoration and in their Lotus Flower Spa Bath (didn't try it). One of the women brought Sarah some buds and taught her how to do it.
This next picture isn't different than what you see in China, but riding in the tuk tuk gave me the opportunity to get some good shots of Asia's answer to family transportation:
And now the family with the record for most people on one motobike driving through the very crazy, crowded streets of Siem Riep:
It is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.
